Night Enviroment Sweden - base textures not showing in LOD radius

Hello

I have issues with NE Sweden together with my photoreal scenery over the west and south of Sweden. The NE base package will not show itself under the aircraft (see pictures). I have created my scenery with FS Earth Tiles and I really want NE and my scenery to work together. Please help!

Hi Niclas
this looks like a PR night layer conflict with NE's,
NE is working as expected there so no technical issue to be concerned about
what you’re seeing there is no more than competing night layers from two different sceneries

we render NE's night layer to LOD13
if your PR has a night layer above LOD13 embedded with daytime PR (not needed ever)
you will see this behavior; it is FSX basically doing what its suppose to do based on the data it has

does your PR has a night layer? (i know the answer; but still have to ask)
is it part of the daytime bgl or is it separate? (this one is important)

most professional PR producers will create the night layer separate from the daytime
you will need to deactivate that layer if possible

can you please provide more info in regards to the PR being used there?

technically speaking, you don't need a PR night layer once you have NE coverage for certain region,
NE provides you with a special custom hand made PR night layer

When you work with programs like FSEartTiles and select to generate night layer in the setting file (its not in the GUI)

The night layer (though unneeded) will be stretched to the same LOD the daytime is set to render; this is by default

If you rendering your daytime PR to LOD 16-17 (since it’s all in one file), the night layer will be rendered to the same LOD

This increase the PR tile size by almost twice as much; for each added layer - Day, Night, Seasons, etc…

For the PR night layer; increasing LOD beyond LOD13

does nothing more than increase the tile size and VAS FSX has to render and use

this is why all pro level PR companies separate the night layer from the daytime

Thanks for your help Chris, you are absolutely right :). I have now deleted the command lines for the night layer as they were included in the bgl files and recompiled my scenery over the west coast of Sweden. Now it looks fantastic..I really love your work! :excellenttext_s:. So now I have a "few" hours of work to rework and exclude the night layer for my other PR sceneries,..Denmark, Ireland and Portugal etc etc, hehe. Do you have plans to create NE for Portugal?

And one picture over the same area but in daytime

Hi Niclas, Thank you for your kind words

it always makes me happy to see our customers enjoying NE to the fullest

pictures looks fantastic now :excellenttext_s:
that’s is the most ideal implementation for NE
i also noticed you tweaked your settings; well done!

yes we will eventually render Portugal; it’s just a matter of when

the globe is big; and its allot of manual labor to render each region
as you can see; our custom handmade PR night texture are not random,
they are precisely hand placed to match each 3D light that is positioned over the roads
with accurate and matching 3D lighting and ground color over PR

Happy flying
