MartinF 1
Hello! First of all; I tried searching for a while and I could find an answer, but please let me know if this has already been answered in another thread! I just purchased the Airbus X Extended or Airbus X A320 or whatever it’s called now, and I’m just learning how to fly this thing. I love it, but I have a couple issues I can’t figure out. Let me first say that my experience with Flight Sims so far, has been 95% default/really simple aircrafts, so don’t laugh at me if the answer to this is really, really simple. Anyway:1. Overspeed - Climb This issue happen during climb, and during cruise. Everything starts out ok. I take off, take the wheels up and start climbing. I engage the autopilot and it starts to climb to whatever flight level I selected. Auto-throttle is on, but still after passing 10,000 feet, while climbing speeds reaches over 350 kts and the climb is disrupted because auto pilot will try to stabilize the plane. I’ve done two flights now. On in daylight, perfectly clear weather, and this one, where it was night and a small thunderstorm: I’ve tried to set manual speed, but it doesn’t seem to work. I’m probably doing something wrong...2. Overspeed - Cruise About the same issue as climb, but this one happens at cruise. It reaches the right flight level, but after a little while, speeds increase and I get overspeed. The auto pilot have to try and stabilize the plane, doing so increases the altitude. Auto pilot then tries to go down to correct altitude, which causes speeds to rise again. This is extremely annoying, and I’m pretty sure that’s not how it should be... Vid: 3. Approach I’m trying to learn how to use the localizer and glide slope and all that, but I can’t figure out when to hit the approach button. On my second flight yesterday, it was pitch black, so I didn’t see much and almost missed the airport and had to descend manually. I couldn’t figure out through the manual when I should hit the approach button. How far out, etc. Thank you for your help. Mod, if I posted this in the wrong category, please move it for me! Emi 5161
You're in TOGA LK, please deactivate TOGA LK and make sure to fly in the correct mode
Cheyenne Chief Pilot 829
TOGA LK can happen, for example, when pitching up too much after takeoff, so that speed would decrease and approach stall speed. To get out of TOGA LK, disconnect the autothrottle on the FCU ("autopilot panel"), check and, if necessary, re-adjust your throttles thrust levers to match the CLB (climb) detent, then switch the autothrottle back on. MartinF 1
Thank you! That wasn’t too difficult...
stevehutch 0
I'm having a similar problem. When I pull back on my throttle 2 clicks to the climb indent, the engines continue at full power causing overspeed. I have been pulling my throttle back to idle, turn the AT button off then on again then move the throttles back up to climb which sometimes keeps the speed to what's stated in the flight plan. Does anybody know a fix
Cheyenne Chief Pilot 829
Make sure your speed is high enough, when reengaging autothrottle. You have to be away from the speed protection area already.
saab simmer 0
And I thought I was the only one. I get it now.
