The scenery compared to other more new projects from Aerosoft is looking very outdated and there is several things that is needed to be updated. All 3 runways is now asphalt and not asphalt/concrete Taxilight and runwaylights need to be corrected and centered to proper position The new clarion hotel and skybridge connecting the hotel and terminal The new cargo city south of the airport New glass edges on the gates at Domestic Terminal 4 The new Jumbo Hostel located at taxiway Uniform SAS aviation academy which is now Oxford Aviation Academy Approach lights need to be corrected as they are on the ground and not on approach lightpoles In bad visibility weather the approach lights activate the "running rabbit" which Arlanda is not equipped with Signs and commercial that is outdated from airlines that went bankruptcy outdated hangars and buildings Although i know you are busy with other projects and don't have this in priority i still think its time for an update. However it is almost always a utter waste of money to update an airport this way because it cost months of work and you get a few dozen new customers. I'm using P3D now and this airport is not up to scratch anymore. No runway lights same for taxiways, shadows not working aso. You say "utter waste of money to update", well thank you, you updated ENGM (Oslo Gardermoen) and EFHK Helsinki-Vantaa is up to date. Both working well in P3D. Whats the difference for the Swedish capitol? You don't like sweden? Not enough simmers here but plenty in norway? Even EKCH Copenhagen Kastrup seemed wort while to make by http://www.flytampa.org/ (by the way, I recomend it, really good). So please have a bit of mercy for us up here in Sweden.. Both Arlanda and Værnes_X uses way too old technology these days, and have to be built from ground-up. None of them can be patched to work with P3D, as P3D is not a "copy" of FSX, but a totally different animal. Try to "port over" such sceneries, and end up with a huge memory leak, as one example. Has anyone any news about this project, how its developing and so on. Andreas A 34 Posted January 2, 2015 Share Posted January 2, 2015 I almost bought Aerosoft's Arlanda the other day but after some consideration I chose to wait for the freeware version because it will be much more up to date and better. I have to agree with Mathijs about the costs of updating such an old product. It just doesn't make sense, financially. Also, making it P3Dv2 compatible is not like just some small editing that has to be done. I'm not an expert in scenery design but from what I know is that it basically has to be created from the ground up for FSX/P3Dv2 compatibility almost. The whole Swedish situation is a bit sad for us who use FSX and/or P3Dv2, personally I'd pay top-dollar for an ESGG Landvetter add-on or even Säve airport (now Gothenburg City Airport) but if only ten people buy it then it doesn't matter if it costs 100€. Imagine my surprise though, when I found my current "home" airport, EFVA Vasa (X-Plane 10 though), at an online retailer a while back so who knows, maybe someone is "crazy" enough to start making high-quality Swedish airports. Have had to shut down the reality due to cars and trucks running on the taxiways and sometimes crash with the aircraft, making FSX restart. Any clues? Regarding all other problems listed above I can just agree with them. It´s a shame not doing an upgrade on such a frequently used airport flying in out to.
