Suggestion

Caribpilot

Was wondering if Aerosoft would consider an alternate VC with No Autopilot? Its very rare to see a Twin Otter with an autopilot and most airlines don't use them. In the place where the autopilot is located, you will commonly find a Sandel ST3400 type unit. If a unit of this nature cannot be created/added. then perhaps just a black panel will do. I know that as an alternative, one can simply just avoid using the AP if he/she doesn't want to, but I am making this suggestion in an effort to offer a more realistic experience.

Our Twin Otter is modeled with the D-IVER as it's real world counterpart. We did everything exactly the way it is in the D-IVER, so you can't really talk of a "more realistic" experience by changing something.

At the moment there are no plans to modify anything anymore, sorry.

While You are right that alot if not most Twin Otters comes without an autopilot, there are still alot of them that does.

When the old Twin Otter was released alot of customers where unhappy not to have an autopilot, they also dislaiked the GPS we fitted back then (KLN90).

The develeopement team around the Twin Otter (Catalina X, Bronco X) always like to have acces to a real example of the aircraft that can be used for our virtual one.

In the case of the Catalina we got acces to a Danish Catalina at a museum, for the Bronco we got acces to a German one and for the Twin Otter we got acces to the D-IVER.

To get all proportions and measurements right, this is the only way we can do it. Taking our own photos and make measurements with lineal and measurement tape.

Customer demands are very divert. Some like it hands on with no autopilot, others want the full suite. Some dislaike the presence of a GPS, while others simply want a different make than the one we fit.

In the good old FS days, panels where simply 2D texture sheets where replacing various componenet where very easy.

With todays standards 2D panels are simply a dead end - sorry, but thats how we feel.

Replacing or removing items like Autopilots and associated controls, GPS's or radiostacks are simply alot more complicated - we will never be able to please each and every customer.

So basicly we add what we believe will be requested by the customers while still keeping it realistic.

The Twin Otter is fully realistic and depicts in very great detail how the D-IVER is setup and luckily it has most of what most flight simmers like to ahve, including an Autopilot and GPS.

If You like to fly without those, simply turn off the GPS and don´t use the autopilot.

Again I think that for the price, You get more features and models with the Twin Otter than with most other addons.

To emphasise: There are no plans to expand the Twin Otter Extended, neither with new external models or with different cockpit layouts - Buy and fly it if You like it, don´t buy it or stop flying it if it doesn´t suit You.
