How its done in the real world

Recommended Posts

For the benefit of anyone who is not aware of the link below it's a radar-like website which shows aircraft movements in real time for most of the world. It's particularly interesting watching busy airports like Heathrow and Amsterdam and seeing how aircraft are stacked and routed for landings.

Another addition to this is www.liveatc.net. I especially enjoy listening to KATL which is about 30 miles from where I live. There is coverage all the way from Clearance Delivery to Center and all phases in between. There is also 2 streaming cameras that cover the airport one from the North and one from the South so you can listen and watch live. I found it very educational.
