Ollie Perry 0
Hi. Having some issues with Mega Airport Orly scenery. It seems to take a very long time to load when using the scenery and the frame rate is awful. Even when reduce the amount of AI etc its very slow. Also, my PC makes a continuing chime sound as if a warning or a fault is going to show up but nothing comes up, just the chimes. All my other airport sceneries work fine and have no issues. Any ideas??

Ollie Perry 0
No, as long as you do provide us with a minimum on details: - FSX/FS9? - version of Orly? - OS? - settings? - error messages? ..... Oh sorry, FSX Version 1.01 OS-Windows Vista Settings - Level of detail radius - Large, Mesh complexity - 45, Mesh resolution - 1m, Texture resolution - 1m, Water effects - Low, Scenery objects - Scenery complexity - Very dense, Autogen density - normal, Special effects detail - medium Hope thats what you meant?! No error messages appear - just the chimes as if there should be messages Does that help?
Rafal Haczek 1612
just the chimes as if there should be messages Are you using FSUIPC? If so, then these chimes would be the low VAS alert, which means you FSX is running our of virtual memory (reaching the 4GB limit). The cure for that is further compromising on load, like using lower display settings, using less or no traffic, lower visibility and cloud draw distance, low resolution clouds, etc. If you want to check it, get the freeware 'Process Explorer' from Sysinternals (distributed by Microsoft) and see the Virtual Size colum for FSX VAS usage. As for Orly itself, it is quite hard on frames indeed. Not the latest and the best optimised scenery out there. But please remember it is in the Paris region, so similarly to London or NY - it will always be worse performing than other airports. What processor do you have? What counts a lot for performance is your CPU, most preferably overclocked to 4 GHz or more. It also matters not to run unnecessary applications in the background. Next, make sure you don't have any unnecessary tweaks for your fsx.cfg (you can always have it rebuilt by FSX) On the contrary one entry should always be there: HIGHMEMFIX=1 in the GRAPHICS section. As for textures and (possibly) stutters, please apply the DXT fixer in case there are some alphaless textures in this product (don't use LFPO myself): http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=178342 Also make sure you don't have double AFCAD files for Orly. You can use this application to check it: http://www.mediafire.com/?op01xaps7y91jgk
