raknal 1
Hi I just installed the update and it appears to have deleted the application, as well it had a virus within it Richard
rjord 86
Hi Richard I just installed the update and had no issues at all........ what antivirus program are you using. I suspect it detected a false positive and for some reason must have quarantined the program.....hence you not finding the application. Ran a virus check on the update file and definitely no viruses found. Roy
Cmakris 18
Roy I had the same with AVG. Although I added exception and all files are there I have also problem to run it http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/73553-ver-108-error-when-trying-to-run-pfpx/
raknal 1
Roy every other update has been ok, all with AVG running, I just ran MalwareBytes and had 4 virus's removed (PUP) So, where to from here Richard
rjord 86
Sounds like AVG is having an issue as both of you are using AVG...... I have Trend Micro and it did not find any malware at all. Probably an idea to wait for flightsimsoft to give their opinion here or create a support ticket. Roy

Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted September 24, 2013 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted September 24, 2013 A typical false positive, which can be ignored. Ahmm maybe you should use a better virus scanner. AVG is known for its many false positive.
raknal 1
A typical false positive, which can be ignored. Ahmm maybe you should use a better virus scanner. AVG is known for its many false positive. Well I just re installed v 1.07 no problems. I found v 1.08 application in the AVG virus vault, when I released it still had the same problems with virus warnings and administrator rights, so I can only assume there is some glitch in 1.08, as 1.07 and all previous updates installed OK I'll stay with 1.07 Richard
Cmakris 18
otto. It might be a false positive but still even if allow exception PFPX 1.08 does not run
Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted September 24, 2013 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted September 24, 2013 Also installed the update and no virus warning and 1.08 runs fine.
rjord 86
Just ran the updates through another commercial antivirus program I have...... no viruses or malware found. Roy
Richard McDonald Woods 9
Same with me. It appears to be an AVG false positive. When I let it, AVG deletes the PFPX .exe. Cheers, Richard
ugandaone 3
Back to 1.07 for the ime being no problem before with AVG John
ugandaone 3
Submitted report to AVG as they find the Vundo virus which is rather nasty spyware. Will see what happens John
rjord 86
Some of the malware and antivirus software have to be taken with a grain of salt..... the same goes for certain registry cleaners. For example, I tried a malware detection software which was supposed to be highly recommended however when it checked my drive it told me there were 20 directory file errors, 3 registry issues and no cookies stealing my details. On investigating the so called issues every single one of them was a false positive and if I had done the recommended purge three of my games would no longer work. Does anyone remember the days when software would recommend that antivirus be deactivated during install of the software to prevent the antivirus interfering with the install...... well I still believe in that to a degree as long as you know the software you are installing is from a reputable company. craigy 20
I use AVG and had a problem with a virus notification. What you need to do is disable AVG while you install and presto, no problem. Rgds Craig
Cmakris 18
Graig even if you diable AVG for installation, it will inform you on virus the first instance you run PFPX or when you reboot PC. This was the case with me. Solution was to exlude all PFPX folder from AVG scanning.
craigy 20
It was fine for me. The mystery of computers I guess Craig
rjord 86
Perhaps people on different versions of windows are seeing different results from AVG Roy
Richard McDonald Woods 9
I have now excluded the PFPX folder from AVG scanning, installed 1.08, and all is well. I can even create the .wx file so easily. Thanks to Olympic260!

LuisKMIA 2
I have the same problem. AVG is not letting me run PFPX 1.08 even if I ignore the virus warning.
Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted September 24, 2013 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted September 24, 2013 Ignoring is not enough, you have to turn off AVG. Get rid of it and use a better one. Even Microsoft Essential is better then AVG.
Jetblastinfused 2
Kaspersky and Malwarebytes Pro both say the update and the full installer are both clean.
perwel 3
Mine 1.08 runs perfect. Nothing from Panda Cloud. Just did an extra check with Panda on PFPX install dir and nothing. Just a clean report. I had AVG in the past but uninstalled it. Caused me a lots of problems. It was the free version. Kaspersky is the best from what I have heard from people in the business. So when I have some money left over I will get it. /Per W Sweden
