Exporting PMDG Flightplans

With PFPX v1.05, flightplans were exported to PMDG fine wtih an .rte extension.

Since updating PFPX to v1.05.2, exporting flightplans to PMDG now has an .rt2 extension.

Anyone else having this issue?

Duh. That worked and do I feel stupid. Issue resolved.

Since the talk about exporting routes may I ask a question here? After last update all my PMDG routes save as rt2 for some reason even if I follow suggestion above. Some simmers suggest rename file to .rte for 777. When I try to rename it message comes up stating that if I rename it the file will be unusable. I renamed it and route won't load in FMC. Thx

I was actually 99% sure, 1% was missing and it did the thing. It looked to me it did not work even if I was placing it into NG folder. Today it works.When I select NGX path, route loads in PMDG/FLIGHTPLAN folder, not directly into NGX folder. When I move saved route from PMDG/FLIGHTPLAN to 777 folder it works. Haven't tested loading in 737NG FMC. Will give it a try soon.

I already use this option for Ngx. If it's only the choose for ''rte'' Please could you tell me how can I use this option to export ''rte'' files into Ngx and 777 folders?

Nope you can't because the 777 use a different flight plan format and the format is different as from the NGX ;-)

I always exported via the NGX option and these flightplans work perfectly in the T7 so for me the format of the NGX and T7 are the same, the 744 on the other hand uses the rt2 format.....

which requres an export via the PMDG option.

You can't load a NGX flight plan in the PMDG 777 co route option impossible with the current format ;-)

Well gentlemen try to load the attached routes first is the PFPX saved route (NGX EHAMLPMA01.rte) second is keyed in what i normally do and saved via the FMC (EHAMLPMA001.rte)

Rename both from txt to rte ;-)

well, thats the PFPX Forum Export from PFPX to NGX and B777 works without problems, when a NGX Flightplan not compatible is with the T7 it isn't a PFPX fault.

Yep it is because the format should be compatible so almost all flight planners will probably change the format and be compatible with the 777;-)

So since this is a flight planner and more lol with export functionality it means it should be compatible also with the 777 if this is intended...

Personally I don't care because I always key in or save a route as a company route as in the real world ;-)

I can imagine that it's frustrating for the user when this doesn't work..

Unfortunately you are far off Patrick with your remarks, because an export is a functionally and in this case it should be done in the correct format.

Unless the developer isn't intended to support the 777 export functionality in the correct format.

At this point PFPX isn't compatible regarding the 777 export functionality (to save a file in the correct directory isn't export but part of the process ;-))

So your answer Patrick is far from best ;-)

again, you can Export a Flighplan with the Export PMDG Simulations (NGX) function and it works with the NGX and the B777.
