MatthewS 32
PFPX is a great program, but the routing seems a bit weird sometimes Trying YSSY to VTBS. PFPX comes up with the following (also see the attached image) FRANK1 KAT A576 MACLA DCT IDODA DCT APOMA DCT GOKEN DCT BOOEY DCT LEC DCT AGAGO DCT SADEL DCT HONGI DCT MAMUT DCT ONOXA G326 BLI G464 PNK N875 ENREP M904 BUT SILV1B Routefinder (http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/) comes up with much nicer route of YSSY SID KAT W368 RIC UH226 NYN T74 TN J251 DN M768 TSN R468 GOMES DCT VTBS It seems to be a bug in PFPX... I was routed on A576 which is a HIGH airspace airway and then PFPX routed onto AUSBP16 which is HIGH AND LOW airspace airway. PFPX should have kept me on A576. alpha117 51
yep, I get the same, but cannot validate the route at this time, as there seems to be a server problem Clive
alpha117 51
here we go for a good route: Go into Advanced routing and make sure you tick 'Cruise Altitude/FL restrictions and 'Wind optimized Route'
MatthewS 32
here we go for a good route: Go into Advanced routing and make sure you tick 'Cruise Altitude/FL restrictions and 'Wind optimized Route' Thanks, I tried that before and got the same as you, but I still think its a bug in the routing. Even when I asked it to Find by UPPER (rather than just QUICK FIND) it still switches me off A576 (HIGH) and onto AUSBP16 (HIGH&LOW) when it could have stayed on A576 (HIGH)
Farlis 155
yep, I get the same, but cannot validate the route at this time, as there seems to be a server problem Clive There is no need for a validation of a FP outside of Europe.

SamyJay 1
Here is a copy of a real flightplan today on this route: It may help you for your planning (ACFT B77W): N0489F300 DCT SY H202 WLG DCT ONIVI DCT AKLET/N0497F320 DCT VILOL DCT TAVEV DCT SARIK DCT TASHA DCT 17S137E 15S135E/N0493F340 DCT JANUS/M083F340 DCT ELBIS/N0493F340 M768 LADOP/N0487F360 M768 BRU/N0479F300 M768 ASISU/M079F300 M768 AKMON/N0476F300 M768 TSN/N0488F360 R468 PNH/M083F360 R468 BOKAK/M078F300 R468 GOMES DCT DANNY DANNY1B

What sense does it make to route me off A576 (HIGH AIRSPACE AIRWAY) and onto AUSBP16 (HIGH/LOW AIRSPACE AIRWAY) when I could have just continued straight ahead and stayed on A576. Have a look at the my screenshot in the original post to see what I mean. Also your "real flightplan", where did you get that? It looks very much like the wind optimised route that PFPX comes up with. Is that what real operators typically do? Use a flight plan that's been optimised for the current wind conditions as opposed to sticking to a pre-determined route?
FlightSimSoft.com 283
Even when I asked it to Find by UPPER (rather than just QUICK FIND) it still switches me off A576 (HIGH) and onto AUSBP16 (HIGH&LOW) when it could have stayed on A576 (HIGH) The AUSBP16 is part of the Autralian Tracks system and therefore was preferred by the route finder. Altough this makes perfectly sense for Atlantic and Pacific tracks, it doesn't really for Australian tracks. We've now modifed the route finder for austrlaian tracks and the resulting route looks much better. In the meanwhile you can use the advanced route finder and check the 'Ignore Tracks' box

I made it ignore tracks and now the route is what I expected, ieFRANK1 RIC UH226 NYN T74 TN J251 DN M768 TSN R468 GOMES DANY1B Fantastic program!
