We have been looking a lot at the joystick issues that some people have with the Airbus X and the Huey X.

Why there was a problem

We need FSX to do somethings it just will not do without intercepting the 'hard' link between the joysticks control axis and sim. For the Airbus we need it because in the real aircraft there is no such link and in the Huey because we want to make the flight characteristics a lot more realistic. Some people have multiple joysticks (or drivers that make fake inputs) and they could get into problems.

What this tool does
It allows you to assign axis to functions. So if you have two throttle controls you can tell the Airbus X which one to use.

Requirements, assumptions
We will always need joystick axis defined in FSX, so if you use any addon software (like FSUIPC) as the FSX joystick connector this fix will not do anything.
We ONLY intercept the throttle axis in the Airbus X and the aileron, rudder and elevator axis in the Huey X. If you got problems with any other, this will do nothing.
Do NOT use this tool if you do not have problems.

Additional information
Q: Will using the Aerosoft Launcher require the Airbus to be activated online? A: No, it will just act as a platform for these configuration tools.
Q: Is there really no way to make the control axis easier to understand? A: We wish, we need to read the information from the registry and that's how it is called there.

  • Download the new Launcher (it is version 1,006 at the moment) and install it. If you got any older versions it will just ask if it needs to update what you have installed.
Attached File  AS_AEROSOFT-LAUNCHER_V1006.zip   9.09MB   1609 Number of downloads
  • Start the launcher and it will look for add-ons that are supported
    2.jpg
  • It's always best to update the data files after you installed a new version (anyway it is a good idea to do this ones in a while). So click Extras | Updating the product information. The second option Check for Product-Updates is also a good suggestion if you think there might be updates. Note that there is NO data send to our systems. The Launcher knows what is installed and fetched the files it needs.
    3.jpg
  • So now the launcher is fully up to date. Now select Tools | Configure joystick. Note the Season option, that's another tool used by scenery products to change the seasonal textures.
    4.jpg
  • In the next screen the first thing you need to do is to confirm you understand this is ONLY intended for certain axis. We just what to make sure people are not getting more problems instead of less. So click the Show additional information button. Read the information there (it's more or less the manual) and confirm by clicking the little red thingy.
    5.jpg
  • After you changed the settings, click on Save settings and close windows. When needed the tool will now install a few new files in the panel folders of the aircraft. The original files will be renamed with a .back extension.
  • That's all. The modules in the Airbus X and/or Huey X are now forced to the control axis you defined. If you have any questions about this tool please post a reply here.

Does it have a throttle lever as the Airbus X actually requires a throttle lever on the joystick or another device and not technically the keyboard as this is not supported.

Mr. Shaun Fletcher well understand your comment, but I hope your vision of customer satisfaction for version 2 of the Airbus x is much larger since all are not interested in obtaining an additional device for excellent software such as the X Airbus.

1 ) Anyway 1 is enough correct ?

2 ) Can the buttons on the bottom of the throttle be used and therefore programmed as I wish ( i.e. whatever key I would like to assign them ) ?

Thx

Yes one is enough. I set mine up in the FSX controls menu with no problems.

Hello!

I am still having problems with the use use of throttles. After using aerosoft launcher the throttles are moving but they don't go back to idle. They alway's stay around the 10% position.
I'am using FSUIPC4 and have GF-TQ6 throttles. Any help?

Thx

Have you tried disabling FSUIPC throttle control for this aircraft?

Well, that's not so easy. All the others add-on are working well (captain sim, pmdg, wilco). Using the fsuipc with the fs controls will cause problems. Even when i don't use fsuipc (complete uninstall) and use the fsx settings the gf-tq6 throttles don't work with airbusX.

The same result. Flaps are ok, spoilers ok. Throttles are moving butt don't go to the iddle position. Even the F1 funtcion is not working like i should be. I have to press cte on the F1 key. This as result that the reversers don't work.
Greetings

Checking the manual for the Saitek Xbox 360 Aviator joystick (link here), the installation looks tricky...and confusing. Did you install the driver as instructed? Did you try it in both Mode 1 and Mode 2? Note that while the manual says to use Mode 2 for a PC, the instructions for FS9 and 10 (aka FSX) call for Mode 1. Don't forget to scroll through the device list in the FSX device control panel to make sure you have the right one you're setting axes for.

Ok;

I have just about had it with this product. When I try to increase throttles to taxi or anything, the throttles keep instantly go back to idle which makes it impossible to even move the airvraft. I have removed FSUIPC, and run the Aresoft Launcher to calibrate. Nothing works. Please help. If I can not get in working, I assume Aeosoft will return my money as I do not pay for something that does not work.

hello. Last week I bought the product extended Airbus 320, which has brought me as a problem that does not work the autothrottle.

So I followed the forum and through the Aerosoft launcher've configured my joystick assignment. My logistech 3 is a joystick.

But I had the problem that when I accelerate, only one of the two throttles. That is, only accelerates the left and right engine no. When I accelerated my joystick, just move the throttle lever left engine and the other engine no.

I could give a solution?

This is the forum you should be in: http://forum.aerosof...iverse-systems/

You'll see two subforums there for throttle issues, one for non-FSUIPC and one for FSUIPC users. Go into the one that applies to you and try the suggestions that are there.

Dear mr Kok

Let me say I'm disappointed about airbus x. It doesn't go idle. The calibration of the throttle was done and not necessary. The throttle doesn't go idle. What's the next step I can do.

I tried all the steps and suggestions I have found in this forum so you can understand my frustration and then I don't speak about the fatal errors I have when running FSX.

Best regards

Marcel

Okay, then I think you have to recalibrate the stick. I actually had the same issue last week.
