DO YOURSELF A FAVOR (if you have the means) and get some freeware or payware terrain mesh. It should rank HIGH (almost #1) on your todo list when you start slope soaring. Here is are just a few examples of what you would miss if just using the default... You can find freeware terrain mesh for both FS2004 and FSX at Simviation.
