What happened to my manual?

I downloaded the demo and liked it so much that I decided to purchase the full game. I went through direct2drive.com and all went smoothly. But it seems that when I upgraded from demo to full version, my manual disappeared!
My mission editor manual is still there but the flight manual is gone. Any suggestions?
I've opened up every file in the game and actually found one that refers to it, but when I try to open it its says the file no longer exists.
Have been in touch with Rise of Flight customer service, they directed me to a page where I could download the game map and the keyboard map, but no manual
can anyone send me the file?

I did this and the manual was there. But when I ran the updater, it disappeared again.
My only recourse I guess is to download the demo into a separate folder
Oh well

Just as a heads up for all. I was told by direct2drive.com to remove the demo and game and reload the full version again.

Hate to say it, but I think you're wasting your time here.
To expand upon M31's comment, I've pretty much never used the manual that I used to have (checking, I see like you folks have seen, it's gone too) in the year or so I've been messing with ROF.
As I recall, the manual was either useless, hyper complicated to digest, or both. For all their brilliant design skills, communication has never been the Russian guys' forte at neoqb.
I think you'll get much faster results by experimenting, or searching the ROF or SimHQ forums..if all else fails, post some questions! Lots of very helpful people in the ROF community in my experience.
Perhaps under Jason's stewardship now that 777 Studios owns the ROF rights we'll see better reference guides in the future.
Honestly, much of what you need to know to set up and run the sim is pretty intuitive. I was flying within a couple of hours of installing it last June...and that's with the original crappy responses setup that couldn't be used in game! Yes, you had to exit the game and make input changes in the launcher and then resart the whole thing to verify that your changes had worked as intended; it's about a zillion times easier to use now.
If you're feeling really lost, grab Squid Von Torgar's excellent unofficial guide to ROF, available here. Squid's just one of many cool folks inhabiting the ROF 'Verse, I've spoken and flown with him and he's one of the good ones.
ROF, more so than many computer programs, relies heavily on the community for support and advice, so please do avail yourself of the resources that are there for you.
I post as [MF] Gunloon on both the ROF and SimHQ forums, (shoulda done so here but I joined these forums for assistance with FSX and CumulusX and picked a generic user name). If I can help, just ask, and don't be a stranger!

I'm using an old Logitech Wingman Force Feedback 3D joystick and was curious about other joysticks out there, any suggestions?

I starting to realize that its a lost cause. Doesn't sound like I'm missing much anyway, just that I didn't really get too much of a chance to look at it. I was just curious as to all the symbols and info on hand signals and how they affect the game in single player, if at all. I've flown flight sims since combat flight sim one so its not totally new to me. I have got it set up quite nicely now and am enjoying it. I also downloaded Wings of Prey but I actually prefer ROF its more my type of sim. Love the idea of a mission editor as I used to build my own in CFS2.

Lots are raving about the Logitech G940 setup, but I'm too disabled and broke to use it...$300+ USD and I can't use rudder pedals so not for me. If you've got the funds, you might look into one, and it's FFB enabled.
I tried a Saitek Cyborg X stick for a while but didn't care for its tendency to rock forward with down elevator. Not bad for $40 ish USD and nice twin throttle levers on the base. I sold it on eBay, and the buyer seemed satisfied.
I spent about $80 USD on a Saitek X-52 to replace it and I'm pretty pleased. Nice stable bases for the separate stick and throttle unit, lots of buttons (way more than I can use, my mouse hand's pretty shot) and a comfortable feel. BTW, I find a bit of Vaseline applied from time to time on the underside of the spring retainer plate where it contacts the base markedly smooths stick movement, probably not a bad thing for other sticks too.
Be advised, the X-52's stick has quite a light spring. I like it but opinions vary. Some have also complained its durability isn't very good, but I'm careful with my stuff and haven't had any deterioration. The X-52 Pro is supposed to be a bit better built but otherwise seems pretty much the same unit with a dual spring. At $120+ USD I didn't think it was worth the extra cost but you might....look around a bit.
As far as force feedback, I have no experience with it. Since a sim obviously doesn't give you motion cues as a real life vehicle would, I've just concentrated on the basic movement skills required. If you're a FFB fan, perhaps others can suggest alternatives.
Good luck!
