Professional version Gibraltar scenery for P3D v4

Is there anything that can be done to improve the look of the East side of the Aerosoft Gibraltar Professional scenery addon for Prepar3D v4 as it looks like there's a real problem/issue with the textures and lack of scenery, features and landmarks; it appears to be devoid of anything?  (see first two attached pictures)

Although undoubtedly there is much more going on in terms of buildings, roads and features on the "West side of the Rock of Gibraltar", there's is still many features and landmarks on the East side that are completely non existent, such as Catalan Bay beach & Sandy Bay beach with it's protective wave & sand retaining barrier, which are often the more popular beaches in Gibraltar. There's a large/long hotel on Sandy Bay, some scattered buildings, bars, etc. and there's the main road Sir Herbet Miles Road that then goes through a unique long tunnel that is Dudley Ward Way. Additionally there's a truly unusual landmark which is that of the "Gibraltar East Side Water Catchment" (see 3rd attached picture).

However the problem or issue is that the Aerosoft scenery on the East Side is completely devoid of anything. The only thing visible, is some kind of ultra low resolution streaks that look dreadful. Is there an overlooked hidden setting in a config file somewhere? or would Aerosoft need to refer it to Sim-wings to correct/update the issue?

Hopefully this can be addressed and corrected as the Gibraltar Scenery has very huge potential. Gibraltar and it's airport, is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating locations that require great skill to land on a demanding initial bank-turn in order to avoid tight Spanish Airspace, as well as a short runway that has the sea at both ends.

--------------------

Lastly although not part of this issue, it's still worth mentioning in the event that the above issue is at some point addressed and maybe incorporated into an updated version of Gibraltar Professional scenery (if there's no current fix or hidden config setting); Gibraltar has a truly unique and impressive characteristic and phenomenon, this being that on certain days the Rock of Gibraltar effectively turns into what could only be described as a chimney that is an incredible sight if at a slight distance or further distance. On occasions the soft lime-stone rock and plant growth on the main side start to release water vapour that immediately turns into a moving cloud that leaves a long continuous trail just like a chimney (see 4th & 5th attached picture). Because this happens at very low altitude, anyone can see it continuously moving. To replicate this would be quite something to behold in the SIM for this Gibraltar Scenery as well as being true to the Rock of Gibraltar.

Thanks for link. Had a quick read and the explanation suggests to me that the developer needs to obtain some side-on photo views (i.e. from helicopter normal flight heights) in order to have a much richer/higher pixel photos to texture-rap them onto this side of the rock-face's mesh. Using overhead satellite imagery would be futile for the steepness of the rock-face on this East facing side.

Something needs to be done as it does look a horrendous eye saw, especially as often the approach path would be coming in from the South-East and circling round semi-clockwise tightly to stay within Gibraltar airspace at low altitude. I travel yearly to Gib from Gatwick and the pilot impresses every time with his approach on a tight turn until very last few seconds before leveling onto what is a short runway. Fantastic!

To re-live that on P3D v4 with decent scenery is fantastic, except the awful east side of the Rock's issue with the problem textures is damaging what could be an otherwise hugely enjoyable experience.

You didnt read it completely: It is not only the aerial image. The complete rock would have to be done as a 3D modell, which means a lot of work and an extremly high impact on frame rates.

And getting the HD images is another problem, as to get the best result you would need a cloudy sky at a certain time of the day to avoid any disturbing shadows. So it is not enough to take a boat and make a few pictures from that side of the rock. ;)

"Boat" ?, sorry I meant pictures taken from Heli.

Understood that a sim object may be required and indeed this would be very taxing on the frame rate (my bad for not including that on recent reply). Naturally sim objects can be different sizes and polygon shapes, squares, triangles, spheres, a flag, etc. To preserve frame rates, maybe it could be possible to have the surface of the East side of the Rock only as a sim object, i.e. a sim object being as "thin as a flag" that is effectively wrapped/pasted onto the shape of that side of the Rock and with acceptable pictures taken from a helicopter or other suitable source effectively painted onto that sim object being as thin as a flag that is moulded on to the East side of the rock.

Naturally if this would be at all feasible; then in situations when flying/approaching within the east-side area of the Rock, then the sim wouldn't have much (if any) of the very highly detailed West side of the Rock to render, thus lending infinitely more power to cope with the rendering of the sim object coated East side of Gibraltar.
