meccadom 2
Hello Peter, I opted to update to the current P3DV4.3 via the optional client install only. After updating SimStarter to v 1.8.1, I perhaps misread the instructions per the instructions in How to 005: reinstall SimStarter. Upon launch, SimStarter advises that there is a possible duplicate "dll" entry in the platform specific settings for P3DV4, Looking at those entries displays two identical path settings to dll.xml: Path to dll.xml: C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\dll.xml and Path to dll.xml (ProgramData): C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\dll.xml My Simstarter application is on my drive labeled "F" and P3Dv4.3 resides on my drive labeled "E" I also have two paths to the "exe.xml" which are different: Path to exe, xml: C:\Users\......\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\exe.xml Path to exe.xml (ProgramData): C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\exe.xml Can you help me untangle this issue which I may have created? I can execute P3DV4 standalone. Thanks Dom

Developer Capt. PERO 398 Posted July 2, 2018 Developer Share Posted July 2, 2018 You can do it at the GUI as well, but let's make it in the config file itself: C:\Aerosoft\SIMstarter NG\data\userprofiles\P3Dv4\settings.ini See this: [PATH] simExe=E:\Prepar3D v4\PREPAR3D.EXE simCfg=C:\Users\mecca\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\prepar3d.cfg sceneryCfg=C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\scenery.cfgdllXml=C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\dll.xml dllXmlProgData=C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\dll.xml exeXml=C:\Users\mecca\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\exe.xml exeXmlProgData=C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\exe.xml Should point to C:\Users\mecca\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\dll.xml. You did it right with the exe.xml. One path to C:\User\... and the other to C:\ProgramData\... Corrected: [PATH] simExe=E:\Prepar3D v4\PREPAR3D.EXE simCfg=C:\Users\mecca\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\prepar3d.cfg sceneryCfg=C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\scenery.cfgdllXml=C:\Users\mecca\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\dll.xml dllXmlProgData=C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\dll.xml exeXml=C:\Users\mecca\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\exe.xml exeXmlProgData=C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\exe.xml
