mazelda 0
Members 35 674 posts Report post Posted Saturday at 03:32 PM Hi, Recently my windows drive crashed completely and I have had to reinstall both windows and p3dv4.2. I also took the opertunity to upgrade to windows 10 pro. Because I was having to do a complete reinstall of p3d I've been checking the dll files in both appdata and program data folders, and I noticed that the DLL.xml file in the appdata folder while also containing the file dll.xml.SIMstarterBackup and exe.xml.SIMstarterBackup are no different to the main DLL an EXE files This is my current DLL.xml file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>FSUIPC 5</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>E:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Modules\FSUIPC5.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> and this is the SIMstarterBackup <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>FSUIPC 5</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>E:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Modules\FSUIPC5.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> The EXE.xml file is this <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>EXE.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>as_btstrp_config_manager</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>as_srv\as_btstrp_config_manager.exe</Path> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> and the exe.xmlSIMstarterBackup is this <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>EXE.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>as_btstrp_config_manager</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>as_srv\as_btstrp_config_manager.exe</Path> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> Should there be entries made to the DLL and EXE xml files when installing Simstarter onto the system? The program seems to start fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of time with the windows firewall on and off but this had made no difference can you offer any ideas if this may or may not be a problem Thanks I should add this is a copy and paste from the avsim forum
Developer Capt. PERO 398 Posted March 26, 2018 Developer Share Posted March 26, 2018 No. These files are created before SIMstarter NG overwrites the source files the first time, to have a backup for each of them. So leave them and just continue. All fine. Please use this forum if you raise support questions.
