For that we need a new entry level simulator. That's what Dovetails promised to deliver and it failed.

I remember Dovetail had this product for a while called Flight School, which was not bad at all for starters but that one also went to hell.

Yes, they are explained in the first post of this topic. There you will find estimations for that release once the first release (A318/A319) happened.

And what's with the a330 for v4 are there any release plans?

And then simply calculate a bit and you will have a expected (!) release date for the A330;)

  • Things like that we are speeding things up to beat FSL's A319 release.

This made me cringe. As if the 32-bit A319 was not already on market. People already know what they get if they get the new AS bus. Same said with FSL's bus. I bet most of the customers know what they'll buy based on their experience.

I feel sad to see such "divide" in our community

I'm not sure, that I'll agree that there's a 'divide in our community'.

Both the Aerosoft and the FSLabs Airbus, has their strengths and weaknesses. They focus on entirely different approaches and because of this, there's no rivalry between them. They each have their merits and they both have their place and cater to different people.

Sadly it's hard to cooperate sometimes these days. And it isn't limited to FS: I mod OMSI and even the MAIN developers that release the game argue about the same project, instead of working together for a better product. Hopefully we can still work with some people<_<. I think it's also linked to money and the fact that the more you perform, the more you'll earn, even if you need to crush your best friend to get better. It's a sad reality, but we can't change it.

At least we have great devs:goodluck_s:

I don't want to drag this topic too much further as it is not in line with the thread.

But I agree. What I meant was that I see a lot of mean, bashful comments coming from the simmers, sometimes quite irrational and uncalled for. Divide was possibly not the best word to use indeed.

From this moment on I will try to give a daily update on things our dev team has done.

  • We took the plunge and moved the fonts to the simfolder. In principle this should have worked since P3d V3 but it always had issues. Now we think it is save. The big advantage is that the complete product is now in just two folder, the A318/A319 folder and a shared folder for all our bus products that has things like the company routes, nav data. Installing is now as easy as just copying the files. No more reboot to activate fonts etc.
  • Stefan spend the day updating the VC textures so they will work with the new RealLight/TrueGlass modules. These allow compression so the extreme demands on Graphics Memory are reduced to an acceptable level. This makes 3 Gb graphics cards feasible and removes a massive headache from me.
  • Robert, Frank and Baylan (the people working on the systems, navigation etc) kept on working the showstopper and critical bugs. A few were closed. Others discussed. In this stage making sure they all know what they are doing continuously is super important.
  • We are planning a hackathon in the last week before release where we will focus on the simple and stupid issues, goal is to close at least 50 of them in 18 hours.
  • One of our main advisory pilots did a test flight yesterday and made a video of the whole flights. He did not make things easy with a flight plan that had discontinuous elements he solved by going direct as is common on European airspace these days. Lot of new information to process but surprisingly no new bugs. The first stage to get to release is to make sure you get no new bugs!
  • We added a new very experienced new pilot to our internal Skype group. This is very valuable as we need information and confirmation on issues at least 20 times a day. if we have that on hand it speeds up things a lot.
  • I am pretty pissed off about some of the silly comments I read online since our news yesterday. I should not be, but I am. Things like that we are speeding things up to beat FSL's A319 release. Honestly I did not even know they were close to release and if I did it would have played no role. If a customer wants to buy that product at that price from that company they should. We are not in competition as the focus of the products is totally different. They do stuff we don't, we do stuff they do not do. I think a lot depends on who you want to give your money to.
  • We got a lot of bugs fixed reports from Rolf on the checklists items I will check myself tomorrow.

18:30, our German devs are closing down after a 11 hour day, Baylan is getting breakfast and will start on tweaks to the TO, CLB, CRZ, DES pages.  Some testers will check some bugs.

thanks sir for the update. and i just brought my gtx 1080 8gig

This, If I could afford to have both buses I would, however I can't justify spending the high purchase price for the FSL buss for things I would probably never use, so I'll wait for the AS version thank you very much.

June will be an expensive month! il finally be able to buy my new GPU (1070ti or 1080) which i am required to get as my current GPU (GTX 1060 6GB) has a rendering issue and i am therefor required to get 48 FPS stable (v-sync) for it to be enjoyable (which is nearly impossible in flight sims) .and if f i just get 40 fps it will not be smooth at all or even enjoyable or playable. so i'm so happy that i can get past that issue and then buy the AS A319. So June is the month il be able to achieve my "short term" goal in life. To fly the Aerosoft A3XX in p3d v4 and being able to enjoy it. :D

Actually 40fps is really good. I could buy your card @ launch MSRP LOL. My core 2 quad suffers pain every time I fly to London or any Mega airport with a pmdg craft.(I get less than 15fps in VC  @ EGLL bruh)

BTW i really hope to see the perfect butter of speedbird 1 @ london city even if I want the 321 first.

Just a silly question: if I have some knowledge on the old bus will I struggle ?

Mathjis:  just a note regarding Real Light and True Glass.  Another add-on added these in its latest update.  A number of users, including myself, got a mad flickering in all of their displays which rendered the sim unusable.  I went back to a previous version of their SimObjects.  However the reinstallation of the old files led to all of the old weaknesses in performance.  So I reinstalled the new update, but removed Real Light and True Glass.  It crashed.  However returning Real Light has made it work, and I have left True Glass out for the time being.  I offer this experience and I am using Win 10.2 or whatever the major update was, that has proved a disaster for me.

Mine has been confiscated. Too much cycling gear bought in the last three months.

You'll have to convince your significant other it was an efficient use of funds by simming in lycra.

For someone a page or two back in the thread, the FSLabs Bus is a non-runner as I am one of many who cannot install it into Win10.2 x64bit.

I have surprisingly enjoyed another bus in v4, but I admit to hanging our for June 26.  Like us all I look forward to learning of the pricing for components and for the entire package..

If you had just spent £140 on a plane you would defend that product to the ends of the earth. It's the nature of the beast. You have to justify spending £140 to yourself, and you do that by slating anything other than what you own that is in direct competition. That's why you see the "I'll stick to my FSLabs etc." I am also a hypocrite as I know when I get my Aerosoft Airbus, I'll be saying "yeah but I paid less than half of what yours cost." :D

It's the constant complaining of "its going to be buggy as hell" and "its 2 years late already" that gets on my tits. If you feel that way just don't buy it. Its simple. I would rather you didn't as it will help the devs get the bugs sorted quicker, as rational people like me can evaluate the product and give constructive advice in where the issues need fixing. Instead of "this is a load of shit" and "I wasted my money on this crap that never should have been released in this condition." This helps no one.

Love you :ididit_s:

I am sorry sir but I am not really following what the comments posted above have to do with FSLabs!? It's your decision to stick with whatever you want but I'm completely losing track where you're going with with this one....

There are always bugs and there will be always fixes and updates regardless of the software company behind. It's personal choice what product you'd like to buy, but I am not going to specifically announce my choices publicly because I don't think it's fair to the readers and Aerosoft as well. I am in this forum because I am interested in the Airbus series that Aerosoft is going to release.

Best of luck.
