I have had to reinstall Windows 10 64bit. I have reinstalled X-plane 11 but get an error message 'X-Plane cannot open Graphics interface file, you have moved X-Plane programme out of X-Plane folder. I have reinstalled twice to try to fix this  but get the same message every time. I certainly have not moved any files. Please can anyone help.

Regards Mike

This is the error message I get, I have just reinstalled X-Plane 11 for the 5th time, on a different newly formatted partition on an empty hard drive and still get this error. Is this the only way that I can get help or is there a better way I can get some guidance.

Plz do not install x-plane in a userfolder on the desktop or any other folder in the os-hierarchy.

Install x-plane in it's own folder directly in any root-folder of your drives, like "c:/x-plane 11" or "d:/x-plane 11" or whatever drive you prefer.

Having the same problem. Installed to default desktop location as instructed.

Hello Paul :-)

if   'C:\Users/Dad/Desktop/X-Plane 11/'  is the install directory of X-Plane,

you have to start X-plane from inside of this folder.

Using a copy of xplane.exe placed on your desctop (or somewhere else) will not work.

Please check the existence of these files:

"C:\Users/Dad/Desktop/X-Plane 11/Resources/bitmaps/black.png"

"C:\Users/Dad/Desktop/X-Plane 11/Resources/bitmaps/black_opaque.png"
"C:\Users/Dad/Desktop/X-Plane 11/Resources/bitmaps/white.png"
"C:\Users/Dad/Desktop/X-Plane 11/Resources/bitmaps/checkerboard.png"

Anybody with any other thoughts? I really want to be convinced that if I invest in the fully version, it will work.

Please run the installer again and let it check if all files are correct. The files may be there, but if they are corrupt (maybe due to bad Internet connection during download), X-Plane may not be able to read them.
