ECAM not working

HI folks,

I'm currently using FSX:SE (Steam Edition) on Windows 8.

The problem is the ECAM screens on upper and lower are blank. I've tried to install simconnect installers through the steam app folder but then I got an error message saying that there is a network error during the process of installing. 

Can anyone please help me to resolve this problem.

Are your using your FSX:SE in a networked environment? 

 

Please show a screenshot (png or jpg file format) of that error message.

Hi Tom,

I attached a png file herewith.

I previously used FSX but now I'm trying P3D V2. 

I'm getting the same problem for both FSX and P3D it seems..

P.S - I'm not using them in a networked environment.

Using the laptop for gaming purposes.

I recently started playing FSX, so not an advanced player.

I still have no idea why the SimConnect installer in your FSX:SE failed. But as a matter of fact, SimConnect is needed for the ECAMS to work properly. 

 

Within your P3Dv2 it need to be installed as well. You can find the installer here:

 

Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib\SimConnect.msi

Hi Tom,

Simconnect was installed previously after reading through some of the replies in this forum 

But for FSX the problem is still the same.. Anyway P3D V2 works fine right now with forced ECAM rendering.
