PFD Font Question

I just noticed today on the ILS approach to KMCO runway 36R (ILS ident IOJP) that the "J" character looked buggy in the little Ident/DME indication at the lower left of the PFD.  So I tried it on another installation that I now only use for scenery design and noticed the same thing, and that it's actually smaller in the AirbusDisp and AirbusPFD font files on both machines.  How I never noticed this before as I've flown this approach several times (not to mention others with that character) is beyond me.

Since it doesn't seem to be a corruption or a bug, I'm curious what the purpose for having a smaller, almost subscript "J" is?  Prevent confusion with "I"s and "U"s?  The Dutch IJ digraph?  Consequently I've also noticed that the "Q" in the AirbusDisp is also smaller.
