Welcome to Locher

Recommended Posts

This excellent freeware addon was recently released and it is fantastic! Forget Saba, forget Courchevel, forget St. Barths, forget Lukla. THIS is a real challenge!

Located in the Italian Dolomites, 9NM from Bolzano, Locher airfield it is squeezed in a valley with powerlines, trees, a church and of course: mountains on the approach. Going around is not possible, so you better do it right the first time. It is privately owned and the owner owns a Pilatus PC-12, a Pocket Rocket (which is a home-build VLA with a 450HP Allison Turbine engine, because you need power if you want to take off here) and an Aviat Husyky A-1C STOL aircraft.

Anyways, I dragged the Carenado PC-12 out of the hangar to get a little feeling on how the owner of this incredible airfield must feel!

Climbing to cruising altitude, in the distance lays the city of Bolzano

I hope you enjoyed these pics! They will probably be the last P3D V3.4 screenshots you'll see from me, as I will be upgrading to V4 very soon!

Thanks for the link Cloose, I guess I messed up somewhere

And thanks for the kind words Ed! They are much appreciated!

Nealmac: I think it does, as it has been released two weeks ago. But I'll test it pretty soon and if no one did it before me, I'll give you the results.

I saw the development thread of this on Sim Outhouse from the designer (Dimus) since the inception of this scenery.  Not only has he completed what seems like a complex scenery really fast, but I believe he has created one of the best freeware airfields ever.  It is a combination of photoreal and 3D models to create the apron, ramp and hangars which are set in to the ground, and the end result is just spectacular.

Saw this scenery earlier in the week, it looks amazing for freeware. Does anyone know if it's working in P3Dv4?

Yes, works perfect in V4
