Weather seems better, so going again. Think my plane is still on the verge of stress.

See my altitude changes to try avert weather - I really am not experienced enough with weather issues (but I'm still alive :)  at least).

Taking off from Sitia Public Airport LGST.

Going to Cairo Int HECA. About 450nm.

Weather much better than yesterday, so should be a good relaxing flight.

Cairo near now.

Will need to find a camel to get me to the Suez or I might just flight from Cairo to Port Sudan. The latter, I think.

It's actually greener than I expected. Does not look like camel territory (yet)

Okay, here is a bit of desert, so I can look for those camels now

It's been a long flight.

I have used autopilot more than any other leg before this, but I've been so tired.

I'm looking forward to the landing and relaxing.

Is anyone else also finding it tiring at times?

I'm off today, so I can fly from Port Sudan to Djabouti.

It's quite a long flight of 650nm.

Plenty of desert again, so hope there are no technical issues. Weather looks good.

Off to Yemen, to Mukeiras Airport - OYQN.

Weather is looking good.

Plenty of desert again.

I head off through the Gulf of Aden and up the coastline of Yemen.

Hope I don't run into any technical issues since the area is vast and unforgiving.

This was a very difficult landing.

The runway has no lights and vehicles are almost crossing the runway. It was very confusing and daunting.

Not a good landing at all. Lucky to be alive!

It's a very dark airport. I should have researched it better, but it was a good challenge either way. Time to rest. My day off was good!

Thank you Heinz!

I really love it, but must say, I'm still learning it and have much more to learn.

If I may ask, you seem so experienced and insightful, your title says Commercial Pilot.

Is this a ranking from the tour or your actual career?

Thank you

Hello Delps,

no, that is not a ranking from the worldtour.

It also is not a real ranking.

It only is a "fictive" ranking from the forum, as I know it depends in the posts and / or reputation points.

I am not a real pilot :)

I could not take-off yesterday, due to weather.

Today was slightly (only slightly) better, but I had to go around bad weather and also took to 32,000ft to avoid being knocked out of the sky.

Time to relax again. If this weather persists, I may have to change to a PMDG 737, which will handle the weather better.

  • 4 weeks later...

I am finally back on the route.

It all went wrong when the weather from Changi (WSSS) would not allow me to takeoff. This went on for a week.

I was about to change to PMDG 737, which can cope with this - but major thunder and lightning storms in my area, destroyed my internet.

It was replaced twice (another major storm hit the day after it was fixed.

Finally got going today again.

Am very far behind, so will need to catch up.

Today's flight took over 4 hours (had to dodge bad weather here and there).
