A chartered Delta Airlines Boeing 757-300 will finally carry us away from the Pacific Ocean and on to our next destination, Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Conditions in San Francisco this early afternoon are cool and pleasant, with an easterly breeze.  Indications are for a smooth flight, but cold and cloudy conditions upon our arrival in Canada.

We will round out the North American portion of our tour today by catching a chartered Air Canada E-190 to Newark.  As you might expect, the weather today in Winnipeg is cold, snowy and windy!  Expecting cold temperatures in Newark as well but overall more settled weather with no precipitation.  Expecting a smooth flight, although it may get a bit bumpy before we break through the clouds.

As an aside, while I would have preferred flying into LaGuardia, I've chosen Newark over LaGuardia because the following leg will be a transatlantic long-haul and you can't fly a Triple-7 into there, and I might have trouble getting a relocation flight in before the December 12 deadline.  JFK is out, because I fly there regularly as part of my Virtual Blue duties as it is jetBlue's major hub, and one of my whole goals in this journey is to fly to places I don't normally get to.  Also consider that Newark is technically closer to Manhattan, the de facto center of New York City.  Yes, I realize JFK is physically located within the city limits.  Not that I feel like I have to justify flying to New Jersey instead, but there is some logic to the routing, however flawed some may think it is.  :)

Today we will finally achieve a destination more easterly than Santiago, Chile as we set off for Ponta Delgada in the Azores, finally putting us within easy reach of London and the conclusion of this journey.  Weather in Newark this morning is cold, partly cloudy and breezy.  We're expecting a smooth flight with a good tailwind and pleasant conditions upon our early afternoon arrival in Ponta Delgada.

Our flight to return to mainland Europe will take place today on a chartered Boeing 757 as we conclude the Atlantic portion of our journey by making the hop from Ponta Delgada to Malaga, Spain.  Weather this afternoon in the Azores is mild and breezy.  We're expecting another smooth flight with a good tailwind and typical pleasant conditions upon arrival in Malaga this evening.

Cleared to land.  Not my prettiest approach and landing on account of accidentally selecting the ILS for runway 12 in the FMS, a runway which my sim does not have.  Still pulled it out though, and that's all that matters.

We conclude our journey today (not in a "few days" as I previously alluded) on regularly-scheduled a British Airways flight from Malaga to London Gatwick.  The flight will take place aboard an Airbus A319 IAE.  Weather this afternoon in the Malaga is again mild and breezy.  We're expecting yet another smooth flight with seasonably cold and cloudy conditions upon our return to London.

Cleared to land, runway 26 Right.  Came in a little high again partly because the non-precision approach didn't seem to kick in properly (note the brick) but I had fully intended to fly the approach manually anyway as I'm getting acclimated to a sidestick for the A320 (and soon to be A330?) flights and it turned out pretty nice.
