Hey jo!

Are you still in KOS?  We just got in last night.  I'll try to look you up!

BTW:  I love your screenshots!  I'm going to try to add some as well.

Hello Rupert!

Missed you in KOS. Maybe a beer in Port Said. Wonder if it's permitted??

Otherwise, a night out in Bombay with some of the gang might be fun!

The screenshots aren't near top league I know that much, but I'm glad some folks like them. :)

I hired a Liberty XL-2 at the Port Said Flying Club.and did an unofficial tour of the Valley of the Kings with a lady friend.. On the way back we stopped over at Sharm-el-Sheik on the Red Sea. A very pleasant diversion.

Currently we are at Kuwait, OKBK. I am sorry to report that Passepartout is poor company, whinging constantly about the heat both in the plane and outside! I told him it's going to get worse and to 'man up'. Not sure he understood.

Next leg, Dubai.

Finals coming in to a murky, hazy Karachi on the ILS.

Phew, glad to see those runway lights. Steep descent in the Dash 7 throws the autopilot, so I prefer to fly manually. Landing on 25L!

Might not spend too long here. If Passepartout agrees we might do some sightseeing in Northern India before heading to Bombay (Mumbai).

I got a chance to hitch a ride in a King Air from Karachi up to Dharamsala in the foothills of the Himalayas. A Medevac job.

Arrived Bombay last night.

Now at Nagpur, VANP in Maharashtra State. Night flight with heavy pollution haze on approach. ILS malfunction on the ground. Improvised NDB approach would not have pleased the CAA chaps, but we got down safely.

Spare parts arrived from London at the weekend. Fitted by engineers at VECC, and tested by me without Passepartout's assistance.

Now at Mae Sot, Thailand. RNAV facility proved useful in the haze.

Passepartout is getting on to this flying lark and has even suggested taking control.

A small diversion to Macau to visit an old Portugeuse friend. She wasn't always old, and neither was I, if you get my drift....;)

On approach on a hazy morning.

Just arrived, completing shut down checks.

Hong Kong is a short hop across the Pearl River.  We might just take the catamaran - landing charges over there are astronomical.

We had a very pleasant break in Taipei. It's a huge sprawling city with plenty to see, do and eat! Went went up this amazing bamboo-like skyscraper - fantastic views of the island.

After an early start we flew NE along a chain of Japanese islands, landing at Kikai island airport. A pal tipped me off about this place. They'd a big welcoming party to see the ship.  Lovely place, lovely people!

We'll head off to Tokyo either later today or tomorrow, depending on Met, etc.
