Crash to Desktop

I've read  several threads where the CRJ crashes to desktop on load. I can't seem to find a solid answer on the cause. Has anyone discovered the issue? Myself, I tried CRJ v1011  (P3D V4) and it crashed as soon as I tried to load the aircraft, but reinstalled v1005 and it works as expected, no problem at all. Just courious..

Please take a look into your Windows Event Log (eventvwr.exe -> Windows Logs -> Application) and post the latest error entry being written from p3d.exe here.

Yes, that's part of the VC++ runtime environment. You could try to install the most recent version, 2017. This is not a new environment as it was in the past for each new version, but more or less a bugfix version of the 2015 environment. That's why it also comes with a version 14.x.xxxx.

This problem only concerns people who installed their flight simulator to C:\Program Files. The issue has been tracked down and fixed. Until the fix is available for download, running P3D v4 as Administrator will help as a workaround.

That's where i installed it, but as you say, I run it as Admin and it runs fine. Thanks again...
