AES cause FSX to freeze / crash

Recommended Posts

I recently upgrade from windows 7 to 10, my PC is equipped with a motherboard ASUS Z170-AR, a CPU Intel Core i5 6600, a Graphic card ASUS Radeon RX 480-8G with display port & HDMI, 16GB Ram, SSD Samsung hard disk 250GB. I recently bought this PC ONLY for flying online and I have the following Apps installed:

Flight Simulator Deluxe version SP2

ORBX global base and FTX VECtor installed

PMDG 737 800 NGX updated

2 Monitors View Sonic

Amsterdam airport bought from Aerosoft and London Heathrow bought from UK2000

Flight Sim Commander for flight plans (bought from Aerosoft) and updated

Active Sky Net for weather and updated

Navigraph charts with Airac cycles updated every month

VPilot for flying online

Bitdefender antivirus

I did many flights with the above configuration without any problem until I decided to install and buy credits for the AES. Opening FSX on the main monitor at Schiphol airport I can hear "Blocks in position" and the jetway moving towards the aircraft and as soon as I open another application like Active Sky or Vpilot on the second monitor FSX freeze, all buildings disappear, I can only see the aircraft with the jetway

attached in the middle of nowhere. Following the advise of Mathijs Kok I disable Bitdefender without any success. I definitely think that the problem came with AES because if I open FSX on another airport where AES is not active I can fly as before installing AES.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me to solve this problem.

Hi Michael,

please check your Windows Eventlogs (eventvwr.exe, Windows Logs, Application) for any FSX related error entries. If you find a recent one (timestamp matches your problems within FSX), please copy and paste it here.

Hi Tom,

I started the program eventvwr.exe in c:windows\system 32 and I found multiple errors concerning vpilot and fsx. Attached one file of each.

Please advise. Thanking you for your kind cooperation.

Best regards

Just uncheck the AES Basepack in the Scenery Library and try it again.

The log have no parts included related to AES (better intelliscene DLL's).

I don't know what XAudio2_7.dll is coming from?

Part of Windows OS. located in Windows\system 32 and Windows\SysWOW64 in 2 diff. versions. Many problem reports on the web about this file, especially under Win10. Althgough I myself never encountered any issue.

I unchecked  AES basepack in the scenery library, load the aircraft (PMDG 737 NGX) at a payware airport (Amsterdam),  AES do not work anymore and when loading vpilot the problem starts again. This time the buildings remain and the aircraft disappear. For the second trial I loaded the aircraft at a default FSX airport (Melbourne) and I started all the other apps (Vpilot / Active Sky / FSC) and everything works fine. I don't know where is the problem and do not know what to do. Pleae please help.

When AES is disabled, no AES related code will be loaded, so AES is not the generator of this issue.

Can you please zip and attach here the following two files, you find in the folder C:\Users\OPABST\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

dll.xml

exe.xml

  • 2 weeks later...

I wish to inform you that the cause and solution to the mentioned problem has been found and solved.

After the upgrading from windows 7 to 10 I did a clear install of FSX and all the add ons and I just remember that to install the PMDG 737 NGX the instructions indicated in the manual from page 10 to 22 have to be STRICTLY followed. I did it and the problem is now solved.

Thanking you for your kind cooperation and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Best regards.

Michel Bigaignon
