X-Plane 10 Addons in our shop

Recommended Posts

  • Administrator

Hi Guys,

I am always being asked for one or another addon, and whether it will be also available in our shop.
This is not always easy to answer and to perform. It needs discussions with the developers, contracts have to be negotiated and so on ...
And then it must be profitable... :) For all addons in our shop, we assume the first support.

Therefore, I would like to even know your opinion, what (existing) addons (scenery, aircraft, tools, plugins ...) for X-Plane 10 you like to see in our Aerosoft shop or what addons, you think, are very good.

May be, we can bring it in our shop ...

So if you have suggestions, post them here. If possible with a link to the addon....
Pictures and a short description would be fine. For example, why do you just want to see this addon with us.
Multiple messages (for the same addons) can be posted.
Also addons that are still in development (or that do not yet exist) are interesting.

Freeware and/or Payware can be posted.

If you have any questions, post them here too.

Thank you very much and with greetings
Heinz

I wish I could be more specific, but I agree with User42. I'd be happy with most anything.

A few I would really love to see are:

Berlin Tegel X

Aspen

Sacramento

Quito

Nassau

Rome

Frankfurt (EDDF)

Palo Alto

Kilimanjaro

Johannesburg

La Palma

Ayers Rock

And those are just from the first 2 pages of FSX scenery.

In terms of aircraft, I'd love the A318-A321 as our current Airbuses are lacking in one respect or the other.

Hello, with the release of the IXEG 737 I believe a new era in X-Plane has come and we need scenery asap! Since the release of the 737, I'm done with 32bit platforms and I will never look back. Here's a very basic list of what we should have. When the IXEG 737 was released, I purchased 3 new sceneries on the same day. Unfortunately not from anyone on this list because there wasn't anything to buy. These should not all just be ports. It would ne nice to see these developers take advantage of the no OOM limitations with some of these sceneries.

Hi,

first, I write this as a mainly Prepar3d user who occasionally makes a detour to X-Plane, plus an exclusive VFR pilot.

I would like to suggest adding Region Sceneries to the Shop. Most X-Plane users probably use World2Xplane and HD3-Mesh sceneries from SimHeaven. My suggestion would be to talk to the authors about this. While the free offers on SimHeaven certainly are enjoyed by most X-Plane users, only few donate, and this would put these sceneries onto a more future-proof base, reward the authors for their hard work and stimnulate further development. Now there is often an uneasy feeling about freeware turning into payware; however a moderate price (say 10$ for a continent) might help. Moreover, former donors (I donated several times over the years) could get them at least within the present XP main version for free, similarly as it's done with SimStarter.

Speaking for myself, I find X-Plane scenery, including the trial area, out of the box with its repetitive and dull buildings much worse than FSX/P3D. On the other hand, World2Xplane and HD3 are game-changers turning at least Europe into something much superior even over Prepar3d with the full ORBX Global range, notably big cities being much better structured and coherent based on the OSM approach than on uncoordinated landclass, autogen, and vector data.

One could go further and think about Ortho4XP-based photo sceneries (say, a VFR photo Germany), but this might turn out to be tough because of legal and commercial issues.

Kind regards, Michael

Ortho photo scenery is a big deal in X-Plane. If you want to truly unleash the beauty of the simulator you need World2Xplane, alpilot's HD mesh and at least 16zl photo scenery. If you pay attention to some of the largest XPX twitch streamers, a lot of them are starting to use this combination of scenery. It's far superior than anything I have seen from the 32bit simulators. At the moment there's two offerings that one could use to download free photo scenery which I agree could cause some licensing issues. I simply don't understand why megasceneryearth is not on X-Plane. You would think that the majority of their business would come from XPX users, due to how important photo ground textures are to the platform while combined with World2Xplane. W2XP was designed for ortho, and while a great deal of users have W2XP they are using it incorrectly if it's sitting above the default ground textures.

It would be really great if megaceneryearth could offer a regional scenery package for XPX users. There's free options to download ortho from map services, but for some users it's just to complicated to set these programs up. They require reading of the manuals and also configuration setup. Megasceneryearth is missing a great opportunity to bring their product over to X-Plane. A buy and download option would be very attractive to a lot of users that don't want to deal with the current download offerings. And also as said before a payware option would resolve any licensing issues.

Please add http://www.megasceneryearth.com to the list

Regional options if possible.

While I agree on Regional photo sceneries in general, I am not sure if Megascenery would be a good partner. On the one hand they offer some good US sceneries indeed (albeit without any autogen, which wouldn't be an issue with XP). However their Megascenery Earth Germany with extended clouded areas and color-mismached tiles was one of the worst flightsim purchases I ever made and collects dust on my shelf now.

Kind regards, Michael

I second this. Basically all the airports Aerosoft offers for FSX/P3D are very interesting for X-Plane 10 as well, and though there are a few good airports available already (Heathrow, Zurich,...) many other airports are missing. I personally would like to see European airports, maybe starting with those that are surely top sellers like Palma de Mallorca, Frankfurt, Paris Charles de Gaulle etc.

Then your A318-A321/A330 certainly is something that is painfully missing in X-Plane 10 too.

On top of that, X-Plane 10 badly needs something like your Germany VFR 1-4 sceneries.

As for addons already available...

Surely the IXEG 737

Then I heard that MisterX6, who has released several truly excellent freeware sceneries, is planning to go payware. If that's the case, you should certainly talk to him, maybe you are able to work out a good jointventure.

Some additional Aerosoft planes I would love to see in XP10:

  • F-16
  • F-14
  • Do-27
  • DR400

User wishlists of planes not yet developed tend to infinity, but nevertheless I'll throw in some types I'd like to see (you might notice the focus of these planes ;))

  • Piaggio P.149D (wouldn't this be a good project for Marcel Felde to get started with XP10 development? :P )
  • T-37
  • T-38
  • F-104G Starfighter
  • F-4E/F Phantom
  • Tornado
  • Alpha Jet
  • C-160D

Hello Heinz,

I would love to buy more from Aerosoft for X-Plane, but of course I do a comparison wrt. price between Aerosoft and the competitors. Unfortunately I often find the same product (for download) somewhere else for a smaller amount of money (and I am not comparing sale prices elsewhere vs. normal prices at Aerosoft). Maybe the revenue is still ok for Aerosoft, but I would really like to see the same prices at Aerosoft than elsewhere even if that means that Aerosoft earns a few bucks less due to differences in taxes.

Also the number of special sales should be increased. Why not have a world-exclusive sale of Carenado products a few times a year?

I would also appreciate if the combined scenery products - I am talking of former German airport 1-4 packages which each coverered a large number of detailed airports - could be taken to X-Plane. Maybe 50 € would be ok for such a package. The current ones charge 20-30 € per single airport, which is much too expensive.

And I do not know whether this increases the chances to sell payware, however many scenery specialists have high server costs for scenery packages. Getting SimHeaven, AlPilotX and World2Xplane overlay, photorealistic or Mesh sceneries for free download or on medium (USB stick, DVD, Blu-ray etc.) would be greatly appreciated.

One last point: It would be good if Aerosoft could sell a product comparible to TrackIR for a reasonable price. I am not aware whether ethe exists such a product right now, or whether it could be develop. If I look at the original stuff, I see a sensor and some stuff to clip to a base cap. And I see many people complaining about the build quality and durability and the high costs.

Is there anything better?

We definitely need X-Plane versions of all the new airports in europe that are coming out or have been out since 1-2 years.. On top of my head that would be Berlin-Tegel, Frankfurt V2, Valencia, All of Jo erlend sund's work, Rome, Ibiza, Split, Mallorca

Pretty much all of them could need an airport in Aerosoft quality
