ron72 263
when studying the endless rows/columns in an aircraft performance files, I come to a point asking: Did anybody ever measure these fuel flows in real? Or how were they produced? Asking this for a particular reason, wich is: most of these datas are quite precice. And...I mean really precice ! I am talking about fuel consumption in reality ! Seems amazing. so, what is the original source of this data?

dougsnow 50
We airlines compare the fuel flows actually seen in service experience, and if the achieved flows vary greatly from the book, we will add a tail specific bias to the aircraft in the flight planning system. My airline does that every 28 days.
