autopilot

Hello Pilots,

Can anyone give me a briefly explain how the autopilot operates in the A320 / 321?
I usually fly with the B737 and since one week I A320 / 321.

If I now make a simple flight and once I'm in the air and use the autopilot, the following happens:

I fill in the SPD, HDG, ALT and LVL / CH , then pressure in AP1 AP2 then the plane goes up and down and starts to ring a bell.

This is repeated every 15 seconds.

I do not know what is going wrong. or better; what I am doing wrong. When I click on the "app" button in the 737 aircraft it just keeps on course and altitude.

You need to go through the step by step tutorial. The 'bus is not a Boeing - their only resemblance is that both have wings and engines.

Thanks for your reply but this is not what I asked.
I have carefully read the step by step but there is not to read how the autpilot works.

Perhaps a ridiculous question for a user with years of experience but I'm not.

So again; I fill the SPD, HDG, ALT and LVL / CH and press AP1 what goes wrong than when then the plane goes up and down rather than fly to the height and to keep track?

You should definitely do the tutorial flight (and not just read throught it) - it is idented to help you understand the airbus logic.

Concerning your problem: what is your frame rate?

Thank you for your response. For an English-language user the step by step is easier to follow than to me. But Emanuel from Aerosoft has put me on the right track.
I have the Airbus one week and did not think there are such big differences with the 737.
But with a little help here at the forum it should work out nicely.

PS' My frame rate goes up and down while flying between 28 and 40
