I read that Digital Aviation is closing down, but support for the CRJ will be on these forums.
Since it has not yet been completed, does that mean Aerosoft is going to complete it?
Thanks

The reason for this is simple. While DA remains the main developer for this project (systems, gauges, flightmodels etc), we have asked one of our internal developers, Stefan Hoffman, to do the modeling. We already know the parts from DA are of the highest quality and of very very high complexity and we know that Stefan can do a marvelous model that will do the systems justice. So after a serious delay, the CRJ is fully in development at this very moment. Release is expected late summer.

Well in that case I guess I don't care that there's a high quality CRJ coming out.
What a shame.

Yes but that is a very long time ago. Guys it is very simple, there is no money in an FS2004 version and a combined version is very hard as the FS2004 will dumb it down a lot in graphics. If you get me 5000 customers for an FS2004 version we'll do one gladly. We would be glad to get 10% of that over 18 months though.

We got nothing to do with that project, sorry. I suggest asking on the DA or Flight1 forum about the Fokker.

By the time DA CRJ (as well as PMDG NGX and LDS 757) will be ready with all SPs, I guess FSX will be the main platform. As of now - yes, FS2004 still rock for die-hard IFR simmers.

I 100% agree that Aerosoft should only focus on FSX!
Also I will NEVER buy a "combined" FS9/FSX product because as you say it just "dumbs down" the FSX version.

So you do not have very much addons to buy then, do you? With all FlyTampa and Aerosoft Mega Airports being dual platform..

Note on that. I do not believe that big airports are seriously better in FSX. If you like big airports FS2004 remains a very valid platform that we hope to support for a very long time.
For small airports/vfr scenery and certainly in aircraft FSX has a lot of new things to offer, but the Mega Airports are in the view of many people better in FS2004 then they are in FSX.

Ho ho ho, we are not taking over, we are just doing part of the project. This remains very much a Digital Aviation project. But is it is very very deep in systems, far more then the Airbus X is.
